On August 16th, 2023 the Little Tujunga Hot Shots were on assignment to the Six Rivers National Forest.

While working the Lone Pine Fire, Little T Hot Shot Diego Rivera, sustained a serious traumatic Injury, when a burning dead tree (snag) came down and struck him during fire suppression/ line construction operations. The Injuries Diego sustained will require an extensive recovery phase.

It has now been just a little over 2 months since Diegos unfortunate accident.  His recovery has been very difficult not only for Diego but, to his entire family, friends, brothers, and sisters he has gained within the Fire community. But his progress has been nothing short of a miracle and his drive and relentless efforts have proven to this community that he has been fighting since this unfortunate incident took place.

Diego is currently going through extensive rehab at The California Rehabilitation Institute.  Initially we were all very uncertain of his future and how much mobility he would regain to his body.  It was a very hard reality for all of us to face and at times did not want to believe all of this was happening. Diego and his family and our Fire community are all very appreciative of all of the support.

We are launching a second campaign in efforts to create awareness and share his story and facilitate more support to his long road of recovery. We are launching the #DIEGOSTRONG campaign and have curated a one time only print of shirts and hats that will be in collaboration with our friends over at HOTSHOT UP a non profit organization 501c3. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Diego and his family. Including all donations provided to HOTSHOT UP during the time of this campaign. Thank you for the consideration and please consider purchasing some merchandise which will be available for a limited time. Please share this story with family and friends and all of your social platforms.

We are all so grateful for the continued support.

Thank you!
